  The restaurant is excellent and the suite and room are clean and comfortable. Very good value for money.

  Poolside is very breezy with good music and candle light. The waiters are very polite except they're too quick to clear your table when they notice you're done 🤣 I mean it's good but sir please chill. Anyway over all experience was an A+, great salad, good drinks, would definitely go back.

  They sent a free shuttle to greet me at the airport, and I was soon in the lobby of an elegant hotel, one filled with carved wooden African statues and ceremonial masks. I was also welcomed at the front door, my bags collected and I was soon checked in. My overnight stay was a relaxing experience, except for the room's air conditioner, which blew warm air for a while before I phoned for help. The AC repair tech who came to the room was quite competent; he actually knew how AC systems work, unlike my previous stay in the Nairobi Laico Regency Hotel, where two techs came in, staged a big show appearing to actually fix a broken AC while only changing a filter, which made absolutely no difference to the temp of the air. That was the Nairobi Laico Regency in Kenya--it was great catching them faking a repair. However, at the African Regency, in huge contrast, the tech made two actual repair attempts to the AC, admitted defeat and quickly transferred me to a room where the AC had been on for a couple hours, leaving the room comfortably cold. The room was very comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast buffet was presented at no charge, and it was quite nice. The lunch buffet was a Mongolian Bar BQ buffet, one where you fill a bowl with vegetables of your choice, give it to the cook, and then choose the meat you want cooked with the veggies. There were 5 choices of meat and they all looked like excellent cuts. I chose beef which was very tender and tasty. The African Regent is a very nice hotel, offering prompt, competent service and great attention to detail. Also, the pool was well managed and quite relaxing. It's a great hotel, one that delivers an excellent ambience, provides a competent staff, and prompt service.

  I like that the place doesn't get too crowded. You go can about your activities with little or no interference from the staff. The rooms are neat and cozy. The food is not "great" but you wouldn't have anything to complain about. It's a nice place to have a weekend getaway with your spouse.
